Seven Afghan Policemen Killed in a Clash with Taliban

ZABUL – At least seven Afghan policemen were killed in a clash with Taliban insurgents on Tuesday on Kabul-Kandahar highway in Zabul province, local officials said Wednesday.

According to Zabul Police officials, the incident happened when a group of Taliban militants attacked police check posts on the highway near Qalat city, in Zabul province.

According to official reports, seven Taliban were also killed in the clash and two other policemen were wounded.

Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.

The attack comes at a time when Afghan security forces have just been able to take control of Ghazni City after four days of heavy clashes with Taliban.
