DAIKUNDI – Ali Akbar Nateqi, Daikundi governor spokesman, told Salamwatandar on Sunday evening that 33 Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF), including 16 commandos, 8 Soldiers, 5 local police and 2 Afghan National Police (ANP), took shelter in Miramur district of Daikundi province following intense clashes with Taliban which wounded many security forces.

An ANP officer among them with a nickname ‘Hero’ said that they did not get any support from the center. The government support helicopter that was supposed to provide them food, in fact, dropped food for Taliban militants. Therefore, they were not able to resist growing pressure and intensifying hunger.

Chamanali, an ANA officer and one other soldier, said that there were 60 commandos, 35 ANA soldiers and 30 national and local police members before their involvement in the Ajristan district, but then there was no news about them and most of them were missing.

According to his statement, Taliban took complete control of Ajristan District and used civilian homes as shields.

He also said that they contacted Ministry of Defense (MoD), but they got no response.
